Bowling to Beat Cancer

Jox 94.5, Hot 107.7 and Talk 99.5 will be hosting a three-day fundraiser called “Bowling to Beat Cancer”. This event will be held at the Brunswick Bowling Alley located at 2908 Riverview Road in Birmingham off of highway 280. This will support the first ALL STAR Man of the Year Candidate for the state of Alabama, Radio Personality, Sly King. All of the Cumulus stations are rallying behind Sly and inviting our residents to join in the fun while raising funds to beat cancer!

The community is invited to come out and bowl with the on-air personalities of Cumulus media stations on June 5th-7th. The charge per person will be $10 (cash only) which includes bowling shoes and one game of bowling. Brunswick is generously donating $4 back to LLS for Sly King’s campaign per person. They will be doing live remotes during the event.

Here is the schedule for the three-day event:

June 5th – 3 Man Front from Jox 94.5 will be broadcasting live from 10 am to 2 pm

June 6th – Sly King from Hot 107.7 will be broadcasting live from 6 pm to 9 pm

June 7th – Leland and AJ from Talk 99.5 will be broadcasting live from 2 pm to 6 pm

This year, a record breaking number of past participants will show their star power by competing in Man & Woman of the Year’s “All Star” competition. This program nationally provides an opportunity for select Man & Woman of the Year alumni to represent their local campaign nationally. Sly King was selected as our Inaugural ALL STAR candidate for the state of Alabama. He raises funds in honor of our local Boy & Girl of the Year blood cancer survivors and will compete against community leaders across the country.

About Man & Woman of the Year

Man & Woman of the Year candidates across the country compete in honor of a local boy and girl who are blood cancer survivors, to raise the most funds for blood cancer research. Every dollar counts as one vote, and the titles are awarded to the man and woman with the most votes at the end of the campaign. The top local fundraisers in the country win the national titles.
