A Talker Research survey of 2,000 U.S. parents with children aged 8 to 17 found that 90% argue with their kids about technology use, with half reporting these disputes happen weekly. The poll revealed 87% of children also acknowledge these arguments, though 61% say fights last only minutes. Excessive screen time triggers 46% of conflicts, while bedtime phone use causes 40%. Gaming and device use during family time each account for 28% of disputes. Outside school, 56% of parents believe their children spend too much time online, and 46% think technology negatively affects their kids’ emotions. To maintain control, 95% of parents establish internet rules including requiring approval for digital purchases (64%), setting time limits (50%), and banning devices until homework completion (49%). When rules break, 66% of parents confiscate devices. (Story URL)
